The Sims 2 - Lost Keys

If you have lost your booklet / case with the key it can be recovered from you registry...

(ONLY PERFORM THESE STEPS IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH USING REGEDIT).

Go to the computer the game is installed upon, and click Start> Run (or Windows Key & R). In the box, type regedit and hit the enter key.

Click the little sign next to where it says:

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
* SOFTWARE
* ELECTRONIC ARTS
* EA GAMES
* THE SIMS 2
* ERGC

In the pane on the right, you will see something that says default, reg_sz. In the column entitled Data you will see a string of letters and numbers. This is the license key for your copy of The Sims2.

Write it down in a safe place

Repeat for the other SIMS expansion packs / Stuff packs you have installed by clicking on THE SIMS 2 UNIVERSITY, THE SIMS 2 NIGHTLIFE, etc back at the EA GAMES level (ie replace THE SIMS 2 with your expansion pack / stuff pack).

When you have finished, close regedit.
